Eumundi Markets

Eumundi Markets – from their humble beginnings on the 24th March 1979 with 3 stallholders, 8 visitors and a turnover of $30, the Eumundi markets are now the largest art and craft market in Australia.

Boat trip to the Everglades

Run by The Discovery Group, tours to the Everglades just can’t be missed – whether you do it in style by boat, or exert yourself in a kayak.  Magnificent still waters where you can’t tell where the land starts and the water ends.

Sunday lunch at the Apollonian Hotel

You just can’t beat a spit roast with some live music and a cold bevvy or two while the kids play cricket or footy on the lawn in front of the pub – and look out for the Shetland pony that sometimes wanders into the bar.  The Apollonian is a great venue for a relaxed afternoon, especially if you are camping on the shores of Lake Cootharaba at the Boreen Point Campground or Eland Point Campground.

Kin Kin Historic Pub

The Kin Kin Country Life Hotel is a lovely spot to have a meal and an ale after walking one of the tracks in the Noosa Trail Network.  Built in 1914, it is part pub and part museum with a brilliant display of historic timber industry photo’s and Pubobillia from all the 1900′s.

King of the Mountain – Pomona

The Pomona King of the Mountain Race  is a gruelling race run straight up and down Mount Cooroora.  The track up the mountain is little more than a goat track, with parts now modified with steps. In some places, it is only wide enough for one or two runners.  The mountain provides a steep almost vertical climb. The return down the mountain requires strength, agility, a good sense of balance, and an immunity to fear.
